La Fleur, Eunice #2 (28 MAR 1834) - 11 MAY 1908)

Mrs. Eunice La Fleur died last Monday at her home near Christie (Clark Co., Wis.), aged 74 years, 2 months and 9 days. She was born Eunice Hewett in Essex Co., N.Y., and was a sister of James Hewett, deceased. In June 1852 she was united in marriage to Cyril P. La Fleur in New York state and there they made their home until in 1869 when they moved to Clark county, in 1875 taking a homestead which had ever since been their home. About a year ago the death of Mr. La Fleur terminated a happy and prosperous union, to which five children were born, four of whom survive their parents. Wm. La Fleur has been taking care of the old home since his father’s death.

Mrs. La Fleur was one of the pioneer ladies of this county and she will be sadly missed by those who have helped to build up the community from a wilderness. She was generous hearted, staunch and true to her friends, and was an able assistant to her husband in the struggle to acquire a farm and home. The funeral occurred yesterday, interment being made at Christie Cemetery.
