Reitz, Ida #2 (24 JUN 1851 - 5 JUL 1908)

Last Sunday Mrs. Frederick Reitz died at the Soldier’s Home at Waupaca, where she and her husband had gone but a few weeks ago. Mrs. Reitz has been an invalid for many years, and her death resulted from a stroke of paralysis. She was born Ida Currier on June 24, 1851, at Skowhegan, Maine. In 1873 she was married to John Pulzifer, to whom one son was born, Bernard. In 1880 Mr. Pulzifer died and she and her son came to Neillsville (Clark Co., Wis.) to make their home with a brother, John Currier. In 1891 she was united in marriage to Frederick Rietz, and their married life proved a very happy and contented one, their first grief being the death of a son, Bernard, on Jan. 1, 1899, upon his return from the Spanish-American War.

Mrs. Reitz was a very pleasant and amiable lady and through the years of her sickness, bore her sufferings with patience and fortitude. She is survived by her husband, brother Seth Currier of California, and sisters, Mrs. Geo. Trogner and Miss Eliza Currier of this city.

The remains were brought here for burial Tuesday afternoon, and the funeral was held yesterday afternoon, services at the Methodist Church, Rev. Burrows officiating.
