Leichtnam, Gorman Gustav (18 Mar. 1896 - 23 Feb. 1947)

Funeral services for Gorman G. Leichtnam, 50, who died at his home, Sunday afternoon, were held this afternoon at 2:00 o’clock at the Zink funeral home where the body had been lying in state, and at 2:30 at the Christ Lutheran church, with the Rev. F. H. Sprengler officiating. Military rites were conducted under the auspices of the Veterans of Foreign Wars, the deceased having served in France during World War I.

Internment followed in the Abbotsford cemetery with veterans acting as pallbearers.

The floral tributes were carried by the Misses Carmen Schultz, Arlene Ingersoll, Jeanette Frome, and Juanita Gosse.

Gorman Gustav Leichtnam, son of the late Joseph and Mary Leichtnam, was born in Clark county, March 18, 1896. He was confirmed in the Zion Lutheran church at Colby on May 12, 1912.

On April 20, 1920, he and Miss Cecelia Theirbach were united in marriage. They made their home on the Leichtnam farm, north west of Colby, for a number of years and then moved to Abbotsford, Wis. For the past three years, Mr. Leichtnam was employed as route man for Berger’s Northland Henneries.

Surviving are his widow; seven children, Donald, Abbotsford; Mrs. Marvin (Betty) Lange, Medford; and Byron, Margaret, Jackie, Donna and Bonnie, at home; rwo grand daughters, Carol Ann Lange, Medford; and Rae Jane Leichtnam, Abbotsford; a brother, Herbert Leichtnam, Fond du Lac; and three sisters, Mrs. Arthur Strebe, Fond du Lac; and Mrs. Warren Gilland and Mrs. Sylvia Jerald, both of Minnepolis.
