Piatek, John #2 (15 MAR 1870 - 18 MAR 1952)

Funeral services were conducted by Rev. Francis Piekarski at St. Hedwig’s Church Chapel in the city at ten o’clock Saturday morning, March 22, for John Piatek, 82, who passed away at the Victory Hospital at Stanley of pneumonia on Tuesday, March 18th, 1952.

Mr. Piatek, who was born in Poland on March 15, 1870, came to America in 1893, locating at Chicago, Ill. He was united in marriage there in 1898 to Mary Pierzhala who preceded him in death. They came to Thorp (Clark Co., Wis.) in 1908 and this was his home until death.

Surviving him are two sons, Stanley of des Plaines, Ill., and Leon of Sioux Falls, S.D.; three daughters, Julia, Mrs. Nick Kowieski and Helen, Mrs. Joseph Kowieski of Chicago, and Frances, Mrs. Leon Jeske of Arlington Heights, Ill. One son, Albert, died in February 1952.

His remains were interred in St. Hedwig’s Cemetery. Pallbearers were Adam Lesniewski, Tom Polnaszek, Peter Wnek, Anton Rataiczyk, Stanley Arcizewski and Joseph Sopiarz.
