Williams, Bennet (22 Apr. 1855 - 17 July 1931)

Bennet Williams was born in Norway, April 22, 1855, and came to Brooklyn, N.Y. in 1877.

In a short time he came to Wisconsin and settled on the farm on which he has resided ever since.

Two years later he was married to Margaret Peterson and to this union, nine children were born, one of whom preceded him in death.

In 1908, he was again united in marriage with Mathilda Olsen and to this union, eight children were born, one of whom died in infancy.

Mr. Williams has been ill for the past eleven years and passed away Friday, July 17, 1931 at the age of 76 years, 2 months and 25 days.

Funeral services were held Monday at 1:30 at the home and at 2:00 o’clock at the Bethany church, Rev. Franzmier officiating. Burial was made in the Norwegian cemetery.

Those from away attending the funeral were Mrs. Leda Johnson, Mr. and Mrs. Walter Williams, Mr. and Mrs. Otto Williams, and daughter Doores of Hamburg, N.Y. and Elias Williams of Priest River, Idaho, and Mr. and Mrs. Crist. Olsen of Minneapolis.

Benjamin Williams is also know as Bennett Williams and was first married to Margaret Peterson who may have died March 1, 1899. He was born April 22, 1855 in Norway.

In 1908, he was again united in marriage with Mathilda Olsen and to this union, eight children were born, one of whom died in infancy.
