LaVerne Gaier, 88, died March 9, 2009, in Pensacola, Fla.
LaVern was born March 1, 1921, to Regina and Charles Gaier.
Following his years of service in World War II, Vern owned Gaier Hatchery in Neillsville. He moved to Ohio in 1954, working for Jamesway Corp. Vern returned to Neillsville in 1967, purchasing Club 10 and creating Bali Hai Supper Club, which he owned until 1976. He moved to Florida in 1980 and spent the last phase of his career as the real estate broker/owner of Pine Forest Realty and 100% Realty in Pensacola, Fla.
He is survived by two daughters, Sharon Gaier and Donna Frusher; and his son, Robert Gaier; four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren; three brothers, Jerome (Delores) Gaier, Gerald (Betty) Gaier and Harold (Alice) Gaier.
A Memorial Service will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, May 26, 2009, at the Gesche Funeral Home, 4 S. Grand Ave., Neillsville. Interment and military honors will follow at St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery in Neillsville.
The Gesche Funeral Home is assisting LaVerne's family with funeral arrangements.
