Klug, Donald A. (19 July 1943 - 17 May 2009)

SPARTA -- Donald A. Klug, 65, of Sparta, formerly of Owen, died unexpectedly Sunday, May 17, 2009, in Tomah.

His funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Friday at the Maurina-Schilling Funeral Home in Owen. Burial will follow in Riverside Cemetery in the town of Hixon in Clark County. Visitation will be from 11 a.m. until time of service Friday at the funeral home in Owen. Donald was born July 19, 1943, in Owen, to Wilbur and Alice (Ludwig) Klug. He served his country when he entered the U.S. Army in 1962 and spent two terms in the Korean War and one term in the Vietnam War. He was honorably discharged in 1971.

He is survived by his children, Kim (Bob) Carman of Minnesota and Dean (Joy) Klug of Arizona; his stepchildren, Eve, Chrissy and Christopher Klug, Ashly (Noah) Dieckman and Waylon (Allison) Klug; seven grandchildren; four sisters, Carol Flannery, Linda (Joe) Carrasco and Ellen (Doug) Volkening, all of Illinois, and Sheila (Wally) Nelson of Missouri; and two brothers, Ken (Karen) Klug of Illinois and Gordy (Chris) Klug of Illinois.
