Ociecek, Katherine #2 (25 MAR 1884 - 4 MAY 1953)

Mrs. George Ocieciek (this is the way the obit spelled it), 69, a former resident of the Town of Butler (Clark Co., Wis.), 12 miles south of Thorp, passed away at Chicago, Ill., on Monday, May 4th, 1953 of a heart ailment.

The deceased was born in Poland on March 25, 1884. She came to America fifty years ago and on Aug. 4, 1904 was united in marriage to George Ocieciek in New York City.

She resided in the Town of Butler for thirty years but upon the death of her husband in 1946 she moved to Chicago to live.

Surviving her are five daughters, Sally, Mrs. Everett Eppers of Loyal, Wis., Mary, Mrs. A. Bratka, Stella, Mrs. Walter Kozencak, Chicago, Rose, Mrs. George Gruber, Milwaukee (only 4 daughters listed).

The body was shipped to Thorp and funeral services were held at St. Hedwig’s Church at 10 a.m., Thursday, May 7, 1953. Rev. Francis Piekarski officiated, assisted by Father King of Loyal and Rev. Father Monak of Junction City, Wis.. She was laid to rest in St. Hedwig’s Cemetery. Pallbearers were James Bertz, John Sherman, Max Langfeldt, Raphael Haas, John Greschner and Leon Hoeser.
