Lato, Irene (27 AUG 1953)

A very pretty wedding took place at St. Hedwig’s Church at ten o’clock on the morning on Thursday, Aug. 27th, 1953, when Irene Lato, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Lato became the bride of Leonard Milawski, son of Mr. and Mrs. Edward Milawski, all of Thorp (Clark Co., Wis.). Rev. Francis Piekarski performed the ceremony.

The bride was beautifully attired in a gown of white and carried a wedding bouquet of carnations and orchid. The couple was attended by Clayborne Ebben and Eve Langiewicz, and Jerry Glasshof and Frances Kmieciak. Mrs. Caroline Frantz of Neillsville was matron of honor. She was attired in white for the occasion and the two bridesmaids in blue dresses. All carried bouquets of red and white roses.

The bride attended Neillsville High School and the groom Thorp High School, and served in the U.S. Air Force.

The wedding breakfast was held at St. Hedwig’s Hall where dinner and supper were served to many guests from Chicago and Minocqua, Wis. A dance was given in the evening.

The newlyweds left shortly for Milwaukee where they will make their future home.
