Norma E. Dahl, 83, Loyal, died on Thursday, April 30, 2009, at Memorial Medical Center Health and Rehab, Neillsville. Pallbearers were Jerad Bluem, Nick Dahl, Russ Kollmansberger, Brad Leitzke, Tayt Wuethrich and Trevor Wuethrich.

Norma Elizabeth Herdrich was born on March 5, 1926, in Loyal, to Reno and Elsie (nee Luchterhand) Herdrich. She was raised on the family farm, north of Loyal, and received her education at the Beaver Center Grade School and graduated from Loyal High School in 1943. Just before graduating from high school, she began employment at John Wuethrich Creamery Company, later Grassland Dairy Products, Inc. She was united in marriage on Oct. 16, 1946, Harold Dahl, at Trinity Lutheran Church, Loyal, by the Rev. John C. Langholz. They resided in Loyal and she continued working at John Wuethrich Creamery. She received an award for 50 years of service from Grassland Dairy Products, and received special recognition for 60 years of service to the company. She continued working part time at Grassland, until retiring in June 2008, after 65 years of employment.

She was a lifetime member of Trinity Lutheran Church, a member of the Adult Fellowship Group and the TLCW. She taught Sunday school for many years, starting in 1939, with students almost as old as she was, and later taught tiny tots in the brick schoolhouse that stood north of the church. She then taught a class of teenagers for a number of years. She has been the editor of the Ostomy Newsletter, Marshfield branch of the UOA, for many years and did volunteer work for the Ostomy Group. She had many interests, but especially loved spending time with her family, making ice cream and candy, and watching "Wheel of Fortune."

She will be dearly missed by her husband, Harold, Neillsville; two children, Roger A. (Cheryl) Dahl, Chippewa Falls, and Anna L. (Thomas) Bluem, Buffalo City; four grandchildren, Breanna and Nicholas Dahl, and Jerad and Tamissa Bluem; one great-grandson, Caden Jerome Rosman; two sisters, Margaret Zimmerman, Stratford, and Veryl (Richard) Holmes, Wausau; two brothers, Harold (Janice) Herdrich, Ashland, Ore., and Robert (Dorothy) Herdrich, Eau Claire; nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.

Preceding her in death were her parents.
