Koehler, Maximiliane Katherine (Marriage - 26 Mar. 1948)

In a double-ring ceremony Friday, March 26, at Salem Evangelical United Brethren church, Dorchester, Miss Maximiliane Katherine Koehler, of Vogelweider Platz, Wels, Austria, became the bride of Raymond Carlson. The Rev. Vernon R. Miller read the marriage service.

Mr. Carlson, son of Mr. and Mrs. Anton Carlson, Dorchester, returned from Europe about two weeks ago with his Austrian bride, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Gustave Koehler.

The bride was gowned in white satin, fashioned with lace inserts and a long train. Her finger tip veil fell from a headdress of seed pearls and orange blossoms. She carried a large bouquet of lilies as she walked down the aisle escorted by the bridegroom’s father.

A sister of the bridegroom, Mrs. Edwyn Rowlands, Pardeeville, was matron of honor in a teal blue gown styled with a bustle effect. She wore a floral headdress.

Mr. Carlson was attended by William Scherer, Chicago. Ushers were Lloyd and Lawrence Carlson, brothers of the groom, and Edwyn Rowlands.

The bride is a graduate of a commercial college at Weis, Austria, and the groom is a graduate of the Engineering College at the University of Wisconsin. The latter enlisted in the armed forces in 1942 and served in the ordnance department. Before his enlistment he was engaged as a production engineer in war plants at Chicago and Bridgeport, Conn. Following his discharge he served in the Civil Service department in Austria.

A bachelor dinner was served at the home of the groom’s brother, Lloyd Carlson, on the eve of the wedding. A reception and dinner were held at the Lawrence Carlson home at 6:30 o’clock for about 50 guests.

Following a several weeks’ trip through southern and western states, Mr. and Mrs. Carlson will make their home at Dorchester, about May 1.

Out of town guests attending the wedding and reception were as follows: Charles Bartsch, Kathern May, Mrs. Ruth Frankwick and children, Marshfield; Mr. and Mrs. Erwyn Rowlands and sons, Pardeeville; Mr. and Mrs. Bob May, Fond du Lac; and William Scherer and Stanley Clemiaga, Chicago.
