Beil, Genevieve Ann (Marriage - 21 Aug. 1948)

Miss Genevieve Ann Beil, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Louis Steiner, became the bride of Emanuel Francis Firnstahl, son of Mr. and Mrs. Herbert Firnstahl, of Colby, Saturday morning, Aug. 21. The Rev. Francis Brockman read the double ring service at 9:00 o‘clock.

At the offertory of the nuptial high mass, Miss Pat Dolan sang Gounod’s "Ave Maria" and at the Communion, Mrs. C. T. Dolan sang "O Lord I Am Not Worthy." The choir sang "On This Day, O Beautiful Mother," as a recessional.

For her wedding, the bride wore an entrained gown of white satin with net bodice, designed with a sweetheart neckline and long sleeves. Her finger tip was edged in lace and was caught to a beaded tiara. She wore a three strand pearl necklace and carried a heart shaped bouquet of red rosebuds surrounded by white gladioli.

In the bridal party were the maid of honor, Miss Patricia Beil, of Marshfield, sister of the bride; the bridesmaids, Mrs. Margaret Firnstahl, sister-in-law of the groom, and Miss Delores Firnstahl, his sister, both of Colby; the best man, William V. Beil, Abbotsford, uncle of the bride; the groomsmen, James Firnstahl, brother of the groom, and Jake Hedler, both of Colby, Wis. Another brother of the groom, Paul Firnstahl, was usher, and Benny Beil, brother of the bride, was one of the altar boys.

The bride’s attendants were all dressed alike in net frocks, made with full skirt and satin bodice, with shirred shoulder drape. They wore shoulder length veils and lace mitts to match their frocks and all wore gold, heart shaped lockets and carried bouquets of carnations and gladioli. The maid of honor wore pink and the bridesmaids wore yellow and blue, respectively.

The bride’s mother wore a brown ensemble and the groom’s mother wore a navy blue dress with black accessories. Both wore corsages of carnations and gladioli.

After the ceremony a wedding breakfast was served to the bridal party at the Steiner home, and later a wedding dinner was served to more than 40 guests. Among those from out of town were Mr. and Mrs. Herbert Firnstahl and children, Margaret Ann and Daniel, Mr. and Mrs. James Firnstahl and Mr. and Mrs. Art Fiend, Colby; Mr. and Mrs. Donald Schultz and children, Stratford; Mr. and Mrs. John Schreiber, Milan; Mr. and Mrs. Arnold Hoppa, David and Frank Hoppa, Neillsville; the Misses Jean Ann and Joan Nancy Hoard, Mosinee; Mr. and Mrs. Charles Brown and family, Boscobel; William Keding and Lee Newcomb, Minneapolis; Mr. and Mrs. M. T. Perry, Madison, S.Dak.; and Phyllis Essex, Marshfield.

After their wedding trip to northern Wisconsin, Mr. and Mrs. Firnstahl will make their home in Abbotsford for the present. The groom is employed at Colby at the Johnson Block and Supply Company.
