Shannon, June Marie (Marriage - 22 Jan. 1949)

Nuptial promises were exchanged by Miss June Marie Shannon, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Emil Shannon, of the town of Plover, and Harold Frederick Holtz, of Grand Rapids, Mich., son of Mr. and Mrs. Herman Holtz, of Abbotsford, Saturday, Jan. 22, at 12:00 o’clock noon at St. Bronislawa’s Catholic church at Plover. The ceremony was performed by the Rev. S. P. Mieczkowski.

A winter white silk crepe street length dress, accented with blue and gold beaded trim on the collar and belt was chosen by the bride for her wedding. She also wore a powder blue satin bonnet and white orchid corsage.

Miss Lorraine Serbin, Stevens Point, the maid of honor, was attired in a powder blue silk crepe dress with navy blue accessories. Yellow chrysanthemums were in her corsage.

The bridegroom selected La Vern Shannon, of Plover, the bride’s brother, as his best man.

After the wedding, the couple greeted their relatives and friends at a reception from 2:30 to 4:30 in the afternoon at Hotel Whiting. Fifty persons were guests at dinner at the home of the bride’s parents.

The couple will be at home at 1444 Vam Auken street, southeast, Grand Rapids, after they return from a week’s wedding trip to northern Wisconsin. Mr. Holtz is employed at Grand Rapids, as personnel manager of Hardware Mutuals. His bride was employed in the Stevens Point office of the Hardware Mutuals.

Among the out of town guests at the wedding were Mr. and Mrs. Herman Holtz, Abbotsford, and Mr. and Mrs. C. M. Vircks, Dorchester, Wis.
