Fokett, William (14 Feb. 1873 - 30 Jan. 1950)

The body of William Fokett was found frozen, Monday evening, about 6:00 p.m. in the wood shed at his farm about four miles west and one mile north of here. An autopsy was performed and the cause of death was given as a stroke, followed by exposure.

Neighbors reported seeing Mr. Fokett earlier in the day, but when they saw no lights at his home, where he lived alone since the death of his wife last Feb. 11, they went to investigate. They found a fire had been started in the stove and the deceased appeared to be in the act of gathering more wood when he died.

The body was brought to the Zink Funeral Home here and on Thursday morning was taken to Antigo where services will be held at the Modart Funeral Home at 2:00 o’clock, Friday. Internment will be made beside the body of his wife.

Mr. Fokett would have been 77 years old on Feb. 14. He lived on the farm since 1901.

Surviving him is one sister, Mrs. John Hoge, now of Milwaukee, but formerly of Abbotsford, Wis.
