Goessl, Patricia Elizabeth (Marriage - 2 Sept. 1950)

Miss Patricia Elizabeth Goessl, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Irving Goessl, Curtiss, became the bride of Joseph Kuranda, Mosinee, son of Mr. and Mrs. Kasimar Kuranda, Mosinee, in St. Louis’ Catholic Church, Dorchester, Saturday, Sept. 2. The Rev. M. J. Kelnhofer, pastor, officiated at the 9:00 a.m. nuptial ceremony.

The bride wore a princess style gown of white satin, the bodice of which had a Peter Pan collar and long sleeves which came to points over the wrists. The full skirt was designed with two rows of lace that extended into a long train. Her fingertip veil was caught to a head dress of orange blossoms edged in lace, and she carried a shower bouquet of roses, baby chrysanthemums and gladioli.

Mrs. Walter Kuranda, Hampshire, Ill., sister-in-law of the groom, was matron of honor in a blue taffeta gown, styled similarly to the bride’s, with matching mitts and tiara. The bridesmaids, Miss Sophia Kuranda, Mosinee, sister of the groom, in yellow, Mrs. Herbert Goessl, Curtiss, sister-in-law of the bride, in Nile green, and Miss Doris Goessl, sister of the bride, in orchid; all wore gowns styled like the bride’s. The attendants carried arm bouquets of gladioli, baby chrysanthemums and roses.

Walter Kuranda served as his brother’s best man, and Theodore Goessl, Curtiss, brother of the bride, and Lawrence Pinter, Madison, her cousin, were groomsmen.

Following the ceremony a breakfast was served the bridal party and immediate relatives at the home of the bride’s parents, which also was the scene of a day long reception in observance of the marriage. A dance was given in the Recreation hall at Dorchester in the evening.

Mrs. Kuranda was employed at Wausau prior to her marriage, and the groom operates his parents’ farm near Mosinee, where the couple will live.

Over 100 guests at the wedding and reception came from Hampshire and Chicago, Ill.; Milwaukee, Medford, Abbotsford, Stetsonville, Curtiss and Dorchester, Wis.
