Fradette, James (20 OCT 1880 - 13 NOV 1953)

James H. Fradette, 73 Clark Co. Treasurer for 20 years, was found dead in the bathroom of his house at Neillsville (Clark Co., Wis.) Friday morning by officer Ray Kutsche. Mr. Fradette is believed to have died some time Thursday night from a heart attack. His discovery followed a phone call to the police by Mr. Fradette’s daughter who became worried when he didn’t keep a breakfast engagement.

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Monday from the Zion Evangelical and Reformed Church with the Rev. William Koehler officiating. Burial took place at Greenwood.

Mr. Fradette was born Oct. 20, 1880 in Greenwood (Clark Co.). He was occupied as a school teacher in Greenwood and as city clerk there until 1933 when he took over as Clark County Treasurer. On Nov. 26, 1903, he was married to Jacolia Mack.

Survivors include his wife, two sons, John of Rockford, Ill., and Capt. Mac, serving with the Army in Japan, one daughter, Mrs. Earl Darling of Neillsville, one brother, Herbert of Neillsville, one sister, Mrs. Bessie Birch of Tuloon, Ill., 10 grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
