  Severs, John J. #2 (22 NOV 1879 - 8 FEB 1909)

John J. Severs died Feb. 8, 1909, at his home at Westboro of a heart disease.  He was aged 30 years, 2 mos., 16 days, and was born in the town of York (Clark Co., Wis.), being the son of Mr. and Mrs. John S. Severs, deceased.  Mr. Severs was an expert machinist and head sawyer and had worked for a number of year in Wisconsin sawmills.  Not long ago he was working on a steam loader and a log struck him and broke his leg.  He was recovering rapidly from this accident until he heart weakened.

Seven years ago he was married to Miss Lois Smith and to this union four children were born, three girls and one boy, and they with their mother survive the deceased.  He was a member of the Modern Woodmen, was a skillful and energetic workman and a most excellent citizen.  The body was brought here for burial, accompanied by two brother Woodmen, Al Kurtznick and Arthur Fessenden, and the funeral was held Saturday afternoon at the Methodist Church, Rev. Burrows officiating, interment being made in the family lot in the city cemetery.  The services attended by the Neillsville M.W.A. in a body.  Chas. Severs, a brother of the deceased, came from Centralia, Wash., for the funeral, but his sister, Mrs. Eunice Dunnigan of Denver, Col., was unable to attend.  Accompanying the bereaved wife from Westboro was her brother, Frank Smith and two sisters, Miss Cora Smith and Mrs. W. A. Ferdon.
