  Williams, Mary #2 (21 JUN 1909)

Tuesday cards were received here announcing the marriage of L. M. Sturdevant to Miss Mary Williams at Madison, Monday.  The following dispatch gives the particulars:

"Madison, Wis., June 22, 1909 - Former Attorney General L. M. Sturdevant, confidential adviser to the governor, was quietly married to Miss Mary Williams by Rev. F. A. Gilmore of the Unitarian Church, at the home of the bride in this city last night.

The announcement of the wedding this morning created considerable surprise.  The couple were unattended and only the immediate relatives were present at the ceremony.

Miss Williams formerly lived at Camp Point, Ill., and came to Madison two years ago with her brother F. E. Williams, student assistant to Geology at the University.

Mr. and Mrs. Sturdevant will remain in Madison a few days and in about a week will leave for a trip to the west visiting the Alaska-Pacific Yukon exposition in Seattle.
