Hubing, Nicholas #2 (1 AUG 1853 - 19 JAN 1910)

On Wednesday, Jan. 19th, 1910, shortly after six o’clock in the afternoon, Nicholas Hubing died at his home at Pleasant Ridge (Clark Co., Wis.), and was laid to rest in the Neillsville catholic Cemetery on Saturday morning, Father Dorrenbach conducting the services.

Mr. Hubing was born at Belgium, Wis., Aug. 1, 1853.  In 1879 he was united in marriage to Miss Mary Peutz and they came to Clark County on March 1st of that same year and have resided here ever since.  Mr. Hubing had been ailing for about 4 years, and all medical treatment seemed to be in vain.  A short time ago his ailment was diagnosed as a ruptured tumor in the head, but Mr. Hubing passed away before he could respond to treatment.

Mr. Hubing was of a high type of manhood and he won and maintained the respect of all with whom he came in contact.  He was a conscientious father and husband, and all through his illness he maintained the cheerful and charitable disposition that had distinguished him while in good health.  He was a hard worker, and that his life was a successful one, was due to the fact that his energy and industry was never failing.

Mr. Hubing leaves to mourn his demise his wife and ten children: William, Edward, Clara, Henry, Celia, Albert, Arthur, Charles, George and Marie.  Also two brothers and one sister, Mike J. of Belgium, Wis., Michael of Granton and Mrs. Nick Decker of Belgium.

Among those from away who attended the funeral were: Mrs. Paul Streff and John Peutz of Chicago; Mike and Nick Hubing, George Krier and Guilliam Croatt of Belgium; Frank and George Hubing, George and Arthur Blecha of Athens; John Hubing of Loyal.
