Schuette, Mrs. Hugo (18 Feb. 1895 - 30 July 1951)

 

Mrs. Hulda Schuette, 56, of Unity, Route 1, died Monday night, of injuries suffered in a car collision, six miles north of Loyal on County Trunk K, a short time before. Her husband, Hugo, 56, her son, Merlin, 26, believed to be the driver of one car, and Mrs. Eugene Gloudeman, 23, driver and only occupant of the other, are receiving treatment at St. Joseph’s Hospital, Marshfield, for severe injuries.

 

Mr. Schuette is suffering from head injuries, a fractured left hip, chest injuries and facial lacerations, and their son has a skull fracture, a broken jaw and lacerations and contusions. Mrs. Gloudeman also has a broken jaw and a number of lacerations. Their condition is reported as satisfactory.

 

There were no witnesses to the accident, other than the occupants of the cars. The cars were demolished.  

 

Merlin Schuette is married to the former Florence Miller, daughter of Mrs. Alvina Miller, of Abbotsford, and the father of three children.

 

Funeral services for Mrs. Hugo Schuette will be held Friday afternoon at 2:30 o’clock in St. Luke’s Lutheran Church, Green Grove. The Rev. Paul Dietz will officiate and burial will be made in the church cemetery.

 

Mrs. Schuette, nee Hulda Ihlenfeldt, was born Feb. 18, 1895, in Luxemburg, town of Montpelier. She received her education in the Luxemburg schools. On April 14, 1920, she was married to Hugo Schuette at Luxemburg. Since her marriage she had lived on their farm west of Unity, Wis.

 

Survivors, in addition to her husband and son are three daughters, Mrs. Paul (Evelyn) Schlinsog, Granton; Mrs. Calvin (Arlene) Schultz, Milwaukee; and Miss Ethel Schuette, also of Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Another son, Orville, lives in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Five grandchildren, a sister, Mrs. Henry Dahlke, Boyd, and a brother, Henry Ihlenfeldt, Luxemburg, also survive. Two sisters and a brother preceded her in death.

 

Mrs. Schuette was a member of the St. Luke’s Ladies Aid Society.
