Danielewicz, Alfretta "Alfy" (19 July 1946 - 6 June 2009)

 

Alfretta Danielewicz, age 62, of Gordon, WI died on Saturday, June 6, 2009, at the Hayward Area Memorial Hospital. 

 

Alfy was born on July 19, 1946, in Stanley, WI, the daughter of Alfred and Grace (Kenney) Baldeschwiler.  She graduated from Thorp High School in 1964.  She then married James Danielewicz in Thorp at St. Bernard’s Catholic Church.  Alfy went on to University of Arizona where she graduated with honors.  She then took her CPA exam and passed it on her first try which she ws so proud of.  Her professional career consisted primarily of government finance in the states of AZ, CO and GA.  Alfy and Jim retired to Serenity Bay on the Minong Flowage in 1998 where they both have appreciated the Northwoods, spending time with family and friends, especially their grandchildren Nikki Grace and Luke.  A true passion and conviction in Alfretta’s life was her faith in God strengthened by her Catholicism. 

Alfretta is survived by her husband, Jim of Gordon, WI; one daughter, Jill (Tino) Martinez of Minong, WI; two grandchildren: Nikki Grace and Luke; two sisters: Lila McEwen of Alaska and Ellen Grace Zaborowski of Minong, WI; and several nieces and nephews. 

 

She was preceded in  death by her parents; two sisters, Mary and Sue; and one brother, Nick. 

 

The Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11:00 a.m. on Friday June 12th at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Hayward.  A gathering of family and friends will be held Friday at the church for one hour prior to the service.  Interment will be in the new St. Hedwig’s Cemetery in Thorp, WI on Friday afternoon at 3:30 p.m.
