DORCHESTER -- Jimmy Wayne "Merkle" Tischendorf, 53, died July 28, 2009, at his home in Dorchester, Wis. 
 

A celebration of his life will be held at 2 p.m. Friday at the Maurina-Schilling Funeral Home in Abbotsford, Wis. Friends may call from noon to 2 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. 
 

Jimmy was born Aug. 29, 1955, to Donald and Dolores (Andreae) Tischendorf in Marshfield. He graduated from Colby High School in 1973. He found purpose and accomplishment as a carpenter. 
 

He is survived by his mother, Dolores; and four siblings, Peggy (Mark) Young of Tucson, Ariz., Paul (Bonnie) Tischendorf of Mandeville, La., Chris (Jay) Gebert of Eau Claire and Rodger (Laura) Tischendorf of Dorchester, Wis.
