Zugier, Ronald L. (February 6, 1945 - June 17, 2009) 
 

Ronald L. Zugier, age 64, of Abbotsford, formerly of Dorchester, died Wednesday, June 17, 2009 at the Golden Living Center-Continental Manor in Abbotsford, where he had resided since March 13, 2009.

 
Ronald was born February 6, 1945 in Marshfield, a son of Paul and Mabel (Lueddecke) Zugier.
 
 

He attended school at Pickard School until 8th grade, and graduated from DorAbby High School in 1963. He worked a short time at the Dorchester Furniture Factory before being drafted into the US Army on Aug.12, 1965. Ronald served his country during the Vietnam Conflict and was stationed near Saigon. He was honorably discharged on Aug. 11, 1967.  
 

He returned to the Dorchester area where he farmed and hauled milk. Ronald also started an artificial insemination business serving the Dorchester and Colby area farmers.  
 

On August 1, 1986 Ronald married Louetta Suder in Dorchester, Wis. They later divorced in 1991.  
 

Ronald continued farming until 1997 when he retired and moved to Abbotsford because of health issues.

 
Ronald enjoyed fishing, woodworking, and telling jokes. He was a former member of the Abbotsford Sportsman’s Club and was a life member of the Colby VFW Post 2227.

 
Ronald is loving survived by his mother, Mabel of Colby; a sister, Eileen (Rodney) Ellenbecker of Athens; his brothers, Marvin (Delores) Lueddecke, Kimberly, Alvin (Chris) Zugier, Kennan, and Duane (Sandra) Zugier, Abbotsford; and special friend Pat Grambort of Abbotsford, Wis. Ronald is further survived by many other nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

 
Ronald is preceded in death by his father Paul.

 
Funeral services were held Friday, June 19, 2009 at the Peace United Church of Christ in Dorchester, Wis. Rev. Kenneth A. Dix presided. Burial was in Dorchester Memorial Cemetery with full military rites being conducted.

 
The Maurina-Schilling Funeral Home of Abbotsford is assisted the family with arrangements.
