Now residing at Shaw Air Force base near Sumter, South Carolina, are Mr. and Mrs. Norbert Miller, a young couple who were joined in wedlock at a lovely ceremony performed at the Alliance Chapel in Owen on Saturday, Sept. 13th, at 2:30 p.m.

 

The bride is the former Jeanette Evelyn Capes, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. George Capes, Milwaukee, but formerly of Owen (Clark Co., Wis.), while the groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. John Miller of Thorp.

 

During the double ring ceremony performed by Rev. W. D. Wagner, Mrs. Delbert Busch sang "Because" and "I Love You Truly."

 

Approaching the flower decked altar on the arm of her father, who gave her in marriage, a bertha of white lace detailed the bride’s gown of white satin, wher fingertip veil was caught to a crown of seed pearls and she carried a bouquet of red and yellow roses with white pompoms.  As a gift from the groom she wore a necklace of rhinestone with matching earrings.

 

Attending as maid of honor was her sister, Bonnie, who chose a gown of yellow taffeta with matching headdress of netting.  Bridesmaids were Doris Capes, sister of the bride, and Mrs. Richard Heiding and Mrs. Wesley Peterson, sisters of the bridegroom.  Mrs. Heiding’s gown was of pink taffeta with matching headdress while Mrs. Peterson wore a gown of similar design in lavender color of similar design in lavender color and a matching headpiece.  All carried bouquets of pink and yellow roses with white pompoms.

 

Wesley Peterson attended the groom as best man, while groomsmen were James Koepke and Richard Heiding.  Al Boxrucker and Bill Franz, city, acted as ushers.

 

At four o’clock in the afternoon a reception and supper were held at the Community Hall during which more than 125 guests extended their sincere best wishes and congratulations to the young couple.

 

Guests from away that attended the ceremony included Mr. and Mrs. Delbert Busch, West Bend; Mr. and Mrs. Paul Peterson, Menomonie, Wis.; Mr. and Mrs. Charles Markee, Greenwood; Mr. and Mrs. Vern Turner, Loyal; Mr. and Mrs. Ed Rickford, Chippewa Falls and Mr. and Mrs. Bert Cardinal of Medford.
