Neff, Nellie (12 JAN 1865 - 2 OCT 1952)

 

Mrs. Nellie Tyler Avery Neff, widow of John Neff, passed away Oct. 2nd, 1952 after a lingering illness from a complication of old age ailments at the age of 87 years, 8 months and 18 days.

 

Mrs. Neff was born Jan. 12th, 1865 in Waukon, Winnebago Co., Wis.  After living a few years in Neenah she came with her family to reside in Clark County in 1909 till her death.  Her husband and son Frank preceded her in death.  She resided with her daughter, Mrs. Margie McNitt for a number of years.  She leaves to mourn her passing her son Earl, and daughter, Mrs. Margie McNitt, five grandchildren, Lewis and William McNitt and three granddaughters in Neenah, Mrs. Russel Arnold, Mrs. George Krause and Mrs. Robert Deewert, and many other relatives and friends.

 

Mrs. Neff was a highly respected woman and will be greatly missed by all who knew her.

 

The funeral was held in the funeral parlor in Owen Oct. 5 and conducted by Rev. Roy Teut of Wausau, with burial in Riverside.  The pallbearers were, Hjalmer Leino, Frank Karye, Joe Adams, Ernest Buss, Tony Ciszewski, and George Wnukowski.

 

The flower girls were Marlene Hodnett, Patricia Quelle, Rosie Ciszewski and Myrna Meinhardt.  The music furnished by Mrs. H. D. Wagner, pianist, singers were Carolyn Wagner and Mary Hudson who sang "The Old Rugged Cross" and "What a Friend We Have in Jesus."

 

The relatives from away who attended the funeral were Mr. and Mrs. Douglas Smith, and Mr. and Mrs. Donald Smith of Menasha, Mr. and Mrs. Douglas Smith of Appleton.  Mr. and Mrs. Russel Arnold and daughter Jean, Mr. and Mrs. George Krause and children, and Mr. and Mrs. Robert DeWeert of Neenah
