Uhlig, Yvonne (Marriage - 27 June 1953)
Marriage vows were exchanged between Miss Yvonne Uhlig, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Alvin Uhlig, and Adrian N. Strom, son of Mr. and Mrs. Oscar M. Strom, Ashby, Minn., at the Uhlig home, Saturday afternoon, June 27. The bride was given in marriage by her father and the Rev. F. H. Sprengler, of Christ Lutheran church, read the double ring service at 3:00 o’clock.

A white satin gown, featuring a fitted bodice with a lace yoke, long nylon net sleeves, a lace peplum, and a double layer of nylon net over satin that extended into a train, was selected by the bride for her wedding. Attached to the head dress of tiny seed pearls was her finger-tip veil. She carried a crescent shaped bouquet of red and white roses.

Mrs. Norbert Hartl, Loyal, sister of the bride, was matron of honor and Miss Muriel Sprotte, Milwaukee, and Miss Yvonne Eggert, Wausau, were bridesmaids. All were attired in taffeta strapless frocks in blue, yellow, and orchid, respectively, styled with lace peplums and net stoles. They wore white gloves and for head pieces had a band of tiny flowers to match their frocks. Each carried a fan shaped bouquet of roses.

Attending the groom were Norbert Hartl, the bride’s brother-in-law, as best man, and Floyd Klemetson, Curtiss, uncle of the bride, and James Fjeld, Minneapolis, a cousin of the groom, as groomsmen.

The mother of the bride wore a light blue nylon dress with navy accessories and the mother of the groom had a dark blue flowered dress with dark accessories. Their corsages were of pink roses.

Following the ceremony, a reception, attended by about 160 guests, was held at the home of the bride’s parents. In the evening, a wedding dance was held at the Colby Park Pavilion. On Sunday Mr. and Mrs. Strom left for a two weeks’ wedding trip to Minnesota, the Black Hills, and North Dakota, and on their return will live at 3040 Park Avenue, Minneapolis.

The bride is a graduate of Abbotsford high school and the groom received his education at Elbow Lake, Minn. The bride is employed in the Honeywell Register Company, and the groom is a coach carpenter on the Soo Line Railroad in the Shoreham Shops in Minneapolis.

Guests at the wedding were from Ashby, Nashua, and Minneapolis, Minnesota; Sherwood, Milwaukee, Wausau, Medford, Westboro, Curtiss, Loyal, Unity, and Marshfield.
