Sorenson, Albert, L. (03 SEP 1898-03 FEB 1946)

 

Albert L. Sorenson, 47, died at St. Francis hospital in Evanston, Ill., on Sunday, Feb. 3, from injuries received when a scaffold on which he was walking collapsed at Douglas aircraft plant. Mr. Sorenson, son of the late Andrew and Marie Sorenson, was born in Spencer on Sept. 3, 1898. There he attended public school and grew to manhood.

 

For 12 years Al was manager of the Sorenson service station here. On Dec. 20, 1940 he went to Chicago, where he worked on government as a carpenter.

 

On Nov. 20, 1924, he was married to Estelle Jones of Endeavor. Those who mourn his loss besides his wife, are two sons, Alan, 17, and Harold, 9 of Park Ridge, Ill., two brothers, John Sorenson of Unity and Lt. Arthur Sorenson of Camp Peary, Williamsburg, Va.; two sisters, Mrs. Ernestine Haselow of Loyal and Mrs. Lena Lucht of Spencer, and a host of other relatives and friends. Two sisters, Mrs, Christine Britten and Alice Sorenson, preceded him in death.

 

Funeral services were held in the chapel at Des Plaines, Ill., on Wednesday, Feb. 6, and at Loyal on Feb. 7. He was laid to rest in the Loyal Cemetery.

 

The pallbearers were Hal Voight, James Colby, Stanley Stevens, Lew Bulgrin, Ralph Scheel and Alfred Mandel. Those in charge of flowers were Mrs. Hal Voight, Mrs. Stanley Stevens, Mrs. L. G. Anderson, Mrs. Ralph Scheel, Mrs. Walter Bredlau and Mrs. Adolph Brecker.

 

Those from away who attended the funeral were: Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Sorenson of Williamsburg, Mr. and Mrs. Arvid Talcot of Unity, Mr. and Mrs. Art Lucht and family of Spencer, Matt Britten Jr. and family, Mrs. Hazel Kiclund and Miss Esther Kiclund of Marshfield, Mr. and Mrs. A. G. Kuhn of Kiel. Mr. and Mrs. Merlin Jones of Endeavor, Mrs. Adolph Brecker of Chicago, Mrs. Beth Jones of Portage, Mr. and Mrs. Paul Freitag of Montello, Mr. and Mrs. Harold Jones and Mr. and Mrs. Matt Britten of Madison, Mr. and Mrs. Ed Baumann of Edgar, Bill Scheel of Colby and LaVern Cutts of Neillsville.

 

The Tribune extends to the bereaved its sympathy in the loss of a loved one.
