Ryan, John (05 FEB 1864-04 MAR 1946)

 

John Ryan, 82, passed away at 1:20 p.m. Mar. 4 at his home in the town of Loyal, where he had resided since the fall of 1918.

 

The son of the late Patrick and Mary Ryan, he was born at Buffalo, Wis., on Feb. 5, 1864. He grew to manhood in southern Wisconsin and was married to Lucy McGrath at Waupun on June 8, 1897. After their marriage they settled on a farm at South Randolph, later moving to Cambria before coming to Loyal.

 

He is survived by his wife and 12 children; Mrs. Anton (Grace) Klimmer, Mrs. Edward (Nellie) Searvogel, Mrs. Bernard (Rosetta) Beaver and Mrs. Henry (LaVerne) Degenhardt all of Loyal, James Ryan and Mrs. Arthur (Margaret) Searvogel, both of Randolph, Charles Ryan of Fox Lake, William Ryan of Elroy and Henry, Gladys, Lawrence and Mrs. Wilder (Isabelle) Kennow, all at home. Also surviving are 35 grandchildren and one sister, Miss Mary Ann Ryan, of Fox Lake. Two brothers and one sister preceded him in death.

 

Funeral services were held at 9 a.m. last Thursday at St. Anthony’s Catholic church, the Rev. Aloys Zinthefer officiating. Burial was in the parish cemetery.

 

The pallbearers were John Bannach, Raphael Haas, Albert Davel, Matt Beaver, Fred Cox and Frank Degenhardt.

 

Those from away who attended the funeral were: James Ryan and Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Searvogel and family of Randolph, Charles Ryan of Fox Lake, William Ryan of Elroy, Mrs. Johanna Madigan of Beaver Dam, Mrs. Mary Sloper and Mr. and Mrs. Frank Schmidt of Waupun and Mrs. William Kennow of Milwaukee.

 

The Tribune extends to the bereaved its sympathy in the loss of a beloved relative.
