Horst, Benjamin Reuben (6 Sept. 1948 - 19 Aug. 2009) 
 

OWEN -- Benjamin Reuben Horst, 60, of the town of Colby, died of cancer Wednesday, Aug. 19, 2009, at his residence. 
 

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Monday at the Owen Mennonite Church in Owen. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Visitation will be from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and again from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Sunday, all at the church in Owen. 
 

Benjamin was born Sept. 6, 1948, in Maugansville, Md., the son of Reuben and Martha (Horst) Horst. He married the former Lola Amstutz on Aug. 2, 1970. Benjamin was a farmer all his life. 
 

He is survived by his wife, Lola, of the town of Colby; three daughters, Lois (Michael) Charlton of Tremonton, Utah, Miriam Horst of New Holland, Pa., and Eunice (Mark) Good of West Salem, Ohio; five sons, Joseph and Philip Horst of Stratford, Jonathan Horst of Lamonte, Mo., David Horst of Bonners Ferry, Idaho, and Andrew (Lu Ann) Horst of Dalton, Ohio; six grandchildren; his parents, Reuben and Martha Horst of Maugansville, Md.; one brother, Chester (Helen) Horst, and one sister, Anna May (Ronald) McCleary, both of Maugansville, Md. 
 

The Maurina-Schilling Funeral Home of Owen is assisting Ben's family with arrangements.
