Meyer, Yvonne (Marriage - 13 Aug. 1955)

Howard Kumbier, son of Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Kumbier of Colby and Yvonne Meyer, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. William Meyer, of Stratford, exchanged marriage vows before a nuptial high mass at St. Joseph’s Catholic church, Stratford, on Saturday, Aug. 13. The Rev. Robert Finucane performed the ceremony at 11 o’clock in the morning.

Star lace over white taffeta fashioned the ballerina length gown worn by the bride for the wedding. Her finger tip veil was caught to a matching headpiece, and she carried a bouquet of white carnations and pink roses.

Two friends of the bride, Miss Gloria McNeight, Stratford, and Miss Kitty Jaeger, Wausau, were the bridal attendants. Miss McNeight, the maid of honor, wore a ballerina length gown of star lace over light green taffeta, and the bridesmaid wore an identically styled dress of star lace over light pink taffeta. They carried pastel, multi-colored bouquets of daisy pompoms and had matching headbands of daisies.

Eugene Meyer, Stratford, a brother of the bride, served as best man and he was assisted by the groomsman, Robert Ebert, Wausau. Ushering duties were assumed by Ronald Laessig, a cousin of the bride and Teddy Meyer, a brother of the bride.

Sixty guests were served a 1 o’clock dinner in the Paris Avenue Club.

Mr. and Mrs. Kumbier left on a honeymoon trip to Canada. They will reside in Colby where Mr. Kumbier is principal of the grade school. Mrs. Kumbier

is employed at the Lewis Container Co.
