Barts, June (Marriage - 22 May 1954)

In an impressive candle light service at 8:00 p.m. Saturday evening, May 22, June Barts, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Howard C. Barts, of Rochester became the bride of James Vrana, son of Mr. and Mrs. James Vrana, of Abbotsford. The double ring ceremony was read by the Rev. Paul Schwan in the St. John Lutheran church, Rochester.

The bride, escorted by her father, was lovely in a waltz length white embroidered nylon net dress. Blue pearls centered the embroidered flowers of the bodice and decorated the off-the-face-veil. She wore a blue pearl choker. Her shoes were of blue brocade and she carried a bouquet of blue and white carnations.

Miss Alice Barts, sister of the bride, was maid of honor. She wore a waltz length dress of pale green and carried a bouquet of yellow carnations.

Little Elaine Manwaring, of Mentone, was enchanting in a waltz length dress of pink and white nylon, as she scattered flower petals along the aisle.

Danny Manwaring, Mentone, was ring bearer.

The best man was John Lougsdorf, Rockford, Illinois, and a college friend of the groom.

Ushers were Joe Barts, brother of the bride, and Jerry Vrana, brother of the groom.

The bride’s mother wore a navy sheer dress with white accessories. The groom’s mother wore a light blue nylon dress and white accessories.

The bride graduated from the Rochester high school and South Bend College of Commerce and is employed at the Manwaring Leghorn Farm, Mentone.

The groom was graduated from Abbotsford high school, and the University of Wisconsin. He served in the Navy and is now employed as supervisor of the Milk Sugar Department, at Armour Creameries in Rochester.
