Younker, Loretta Mae (Marriage - 8 Sept. 1954) 
 

Pink and white gladioli and hydrangeas adorned the altars and sanctuary at St. Bernard’s Catholic church for the wedding of Miss Loretta Mae Younker and Verlyn Pockrandt, Wednesday morning. Marriage vows were repeated in a double ring service before the 9:00 o’clock nuptial high mass, which was sung by the Rev. Raymond Schulz. 
 

The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Rudolph Younker, of Abbotsford, and the groom is the son of Mrs. William Pockrandt, of Loyal. 
 

For the occasion, the bride, who was given in marriage by her father, wore a gown fashioned with a lace bodice, Queen Anne collar and long sleeves. Lace inserts were used in the nylon net bouffant skirt. Her lace edged veil, finger tip length, was caught to a pearl head dress. Her bouquet was an arrangement of red roses and white sweet peas. 
 

Attending her as maid of honor was her friend, Miss Carol Speich, of Greenwood. Bridesmaids were Miss Betty Pockrandt, Loyal, and Miss Darlene Younker, sisters of the bridal couple. They were gowned alike in coral dresses made of net over taffeta. Lace edged capes were worn with the strapless dresses which featured very full tiered skirts. Floral wreaths matched their frocks and matching satin ribbons were tied to their bouquets of baby mums. 
 

The best man was Harry Smith, friend of the groom, of Loyal, Orville Jaeger, of Marshfield, and Robert Kind, of Germantown, also attended their cousin, the groom. Leo Bumann, Abbotsford, seated the guests at the church. Dennis Younker, four year old brother of the bride, carried the rings on a heart shaped satin pillow. 
 

Mrs. Younker was present at her daughter’s wedding in a black dress with white accessories and Mrs. Pockrandt wore a pink suit dress. Corsages of baby mums were worn by the mothers. 
 

At the close of the mass, the bride places a bouquet of pink and white gladioli at the Blessed Virgin altar during which the choir sang "Mother at Your Feet We’re Kneeling." 
 

A wedding breakfast of the bridal party was served at the home of the bride’s parents, where a reception was held at 4:00 o’clock. Supper was served to about 90 guests who were from Milwaukee, Germantown, La Crosse, Westfield, Loyal, Wausau, Greenwood, Dorchester, and Stetsonville. 
 

In the evening the new Mr. and Mrs. Pockrandt greeted their friends at a wedding dance at the Riverview ballroom, Stratford. 
 

Mr. and Mrs. Pockrandt are now residing at Wausau where the groom is employed by International Harvester Company.
