Gust, Carl F. (15 Sept. 1896 - 20 Apr. 1955) 
 

Funeral services for Carl F. Gust, West Bend, were held at St. John’s Lutheran church Saturday afternoon at 2:00 o’clock, with the Rev. W. P. Sauer officiating. Internment was made in Pilgrim Rest cemetery. 
 

Mr. Gust died Wednesday afternoon, April 20. He had been ailing for some time, and was taken seriously ill two days prior to his death. 
 

He was born Sept. 15, 1896 in Berlin, Germany. At the age of 10, he came to this country with his parents. The family settled at Westboro where he grew up and attended school. During World War I, he served in the armed forces for 21 months. 
 

On Jan. 19, 1919, he married the former Ruth Hulbert, at Westboro. She died in 1922. On May 28, 1925, he married Erna Rucks, at Lomira. After their marriage the couple lived in Milwaukee, where Mr. Gust was employed by the International Harvester Company. In 1932, the family moved to Abbotsford, and in 1952 went to West Bend where Mr. Gust was employed with the Gehl Manufacturing Company. 
 

Surviving are the widow, eight children, Milo, Medford, Oregon; Mrs. Elmer (Inez) Schwoch, West Bend; Roger, Rockford, Ill.; and Bernadine, Richard, Carol, Faith, and David, all of West Bend; three grand children, and two sisters, Mrs. Ella Muicke, Milwaukee; and Mrs. Carl Woskoski (Ann), of Fond du Lac. 
 

Mr. Gust was a member of the Hanson-Terrio post of the American Legion, Abbotsford.
