Zipfel, Anna (30 September 1870 - 5 July 1952)  
 

Mrs. Louis (Anna) Zipfel, 81, died at her home at 1109 Grand Avenue on July 5, 1952, at 11:45 p.m.  She had been in poor health for the past 10 years and very ill for the past eight months. 
 

The body lay in state at  the Georgas Funeral Home until one o’clock on Wednesday when it was taken to St. John’s Lutheran Church for final rites at 2 o’clock.  The Rev. Alfred Schewe officiated. 
 

Mrs. Zipfel, the former Anna G. Martin, waws born on September 30, 1870, in Germany.  She came to the United States with her parents at the age of 20 years and located with them on a farm in Pine Valley. She worked out as a young woman and on June 19, was married to Louis Zipfel.  They moved to the Zipfel farm in the Town of Grant and resided there until 1925, when they moved to their home on Grand Avenue.  Mr. Zipfel died in March, 1928, after which she lived with her daughter, Mrs. Adolph Meyer, for some time.  Four years ago she moved with her daughter and son-in-law back to her home in the city.  She was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church and of the Ladies Aid. 
 

She is survived by her daughter, Mrs. Adolph (Elsie) Meyer; one daughter-in-law, Mrs. Emma Zipfel; one sister, Mrs. Charles (Elizabeth) Shields of Blue Island, Ill.; two grandchildren, Ruth Zipfel of Bay City, Mich., and Raymond Zipfel of Neillsville.  She was preceded in death by her son, Fred, in August 1945, her husband in 1928 and one sister, Mrs. Herman (Martha) Carl, in 1925.
