Buettner, Everett Floyd (22 October 1907 - 21 July 1952) 
 

Everett Floyd Buettner, 44 of Greenwood died on Monday 1 ½ hours after being admitted to the Neillsville Hospital. 
 

Funeral services have been tentatively set for Thursday at 2 o’clock from the Christie Methodist Church, with the Rev. Virgil Nulton as officiating clergyman.  The body lay in state at the Georgas Funeral Home until time of service.  Interment was to be made in the Neillsville City Cemetery. 
 

Mr. Buettner was born October 22, 1907, to William F. and Lucretia (Fasbender) Buettner at Wausau, Wis.  He received his elementary schooling there and farmed with his parents in Marathon County before coming to Clark County. 
 

On September 27, 1928, he was married to Leota Wicks at Devil’s Lake, N. D. Following his marriage they operated the home farm.  He was school treasurer for the Forman School for the past 12 years.   
 

He is survived by his wife, four children: Dwayne of the U. S. Army in Germany; Jacqulin, Mrs. Herman Strangfeld, Neillsville; and James and Marvin at home; his father, William F. Buettner of Hackensack, Minn; one sister, Mrs. Otto (Vivian) Schultz of Greenwood; three brothers - Lloyd Buettner of Appleton, Darrell Buettner, Hackensack, Minn., and Russell Buettner of Abalon, Wis.; also one grandchild.

Funeral services were conducted on Thursday from the Georgas Funeral Home and from the Christie Methodist Church for Everett Buettner.  
 

Pallbearers were: Lyle Armitage, Alfred Boon, Glenn Mills, LaVern Cutts, H. Lavanduski and Ernest Bird. 
 

Floral offerings were in charge of Mrs. George Schaefer, Mrs. Fred Buchholz and Mrs. George Younker. 
 

Mrs. George Schaefer and Mrs. Fred Buchholz sang two selections, accompanied by Miss Verna Schaefer. 
 

Persons from out of town included: William Buettner, Mr. and Mrs. Darrell Buettner, Charlotte and Mildred Buettner of Hackensack, Minn.; Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd Buettner, Appleton; Mr. and Mrs. Ed Cartwright, Weyauwega; Mr. and Mrs. Russell Buettner, Abalon; Fred Buettner and Mrs. Henry Buettner of Wausau; Mr. and Mrs. Francis Wicks, Mrs. Ellen Sook of Marshfield; Mrs. Ross Havawalt, Doylestown, Ohio; Mr. and Mrs. Wesley Wicks and Janice of Rockford; Mr. and Mrs. Harold Moe of Union Grove; Mr. and Mrs. Albert Wicks, North Freedom; Mr. and Mrs. Rueben Speiger and Ramona of Mayville; Mr. and Mrs. John O. Johnson and family of Stanley; Emil Fasbender and Ruth Apfelbeck of Colby.
