Butler's Corners

Sunday Mr. and Mrs. Allie Cole of Town of Mentor, spent the day with Will Butler and family.

Recently Dave and Isaac Butler started to build turnpike on the Greenwood road and broke down, which compelled them to go to Thorp twice after repairs.

Wednesday, Mr. Shoemaker, of Thorp came down here and visited his son Arthur.

Monday, Arthur Shoemaker went to Thorp on business.

James Butler returned home from the tie woods yesterday. He was up near Diamond Lake fourteen miles north of Thorp.

Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Butler and Bert Jacobs took a trip of about fifteen miles Sunday. They drove to Bert Zimmerman's then to George Butler's.

Miss McDonald, Bert Zimmerman's hired girl, was up to the corners last Sunday.

Saturday, September 15, there were seven men drowned in the Eau Claire river. We did not learn the names.

A man who was a woodsman was drowned Friday while on the drive. He was found and buried Sunday.
