Mayer, Louise (Marriage - 9 April 1953)

Miss Louise Mayer, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Tony Mayer of Humbird and William Genteman, Jr. son of Mr. and Mrs. William Genteman, Sr., of Neillsville were married April 9, 1953 at 9:00 a.m. at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, Fairview, Wis., with Father Bofenkamp performing the double ring ceremony.

White lilies were used as decorations in the house and church.

The bride’s father, gave her away.

Her gown was made of white satin with full gathered skirt and circular train of satin. The yoke of the dress was of embroidered net lace and long sleeves extended over the wrists.  A full length illusion veil edged in old lace and held by a pearl beaded halo of red roses and white hyacinths completed her gown.

Her maid of honor was her sister, Marie Mayer, who was dressed in a Nile green satin gown and carried a colonial bouquet.  The best man was Norman Mayer, brother of the bride.

Flower girl was Lorraine Mayer, sister of the bride.

The wedding reception took place at the home of the bride’s parents at 2:00 p.m. with the rooms decorated in pink and white.

The bride was graduated from the Humbird High School and the groom from the Neillsville High School.

A prenuptial shower was given the young couple by Mrs. Herman Mayer, Mrs. Joe Mayer and Mrs. George Dimmitt at the home of the bride’s parents in Humbird.
