Kmieciak, Frances A. (25 SEP 1954)

St. Hedwig’s Church was the setting for the wedding of Miss Frances A. Kmieciak, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Kazimier Kmieciak of Thorp, and Anton J. Rogus, son of Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Rogus of Greenwood.  The ceremony was performed Sept. 25th, 1954 at a 10 o’clock solemn high mass with Rev. Francis Piekarski officiating.

The bride, who was escorted to the altar by her father, wore a floor length gown of nylon tulle and Chantilly lace, with a satin fashioned fitted bodice and with a sequin trimmed yoke, a small standup collar and with long lace sleeves.  The bouffant skirt of tulle over satin with wide ruffles edged in lace cascading down the back into the full sweeping train.  She wore a crown of seed pearls and brilliants which held the imported silk illusion.  The veil was edged in matching lace.  She carried a bouquet of white Kilarney roses, gardenias, and stephanotis tied in streamers.

Miss Helen Kmieciak was her sister’s maid of honor and Miss Delores Sappa, cousin of the groom, Miss Angeline Rogus, sister of the groom, and Miss Genevieve Lasiuk, friend of the bride, served as bridesmaids.  Miss Theresa Rogus, niece of the groom, was flower girl.  The attendants were all gowned alike in cotillion blue floor length strapless gowns of net, lace and taffeta fashioned with a fitted lace bodice and a lace bolero.

Mr. Walter Kmieciak, brother of the bride, attended the groom as best man.  The other attendants were Alex Smigalski and Edward Lato, both of Chicago.

The bride’s mother attended the wedding in a pink lace over satin dress complemented by a corsage of red roses.  The mother of the groom wore a similar corsage on her lace satin dress.

A wedding breakfast for 125 guests was served in St. Hedwig’s Hall, which was decorated with white and blue streamers and white wedding bells.  A 6 o’clock supper was served for about four hundred fifty guests.  The four tier wedding cake was decorated in yellow and pink rose.

The bride is a graduate of Thorp High School and is employed at the Branch Office of the Thorp Finance Corp. for the past year.

After spending the honeymoon in the western states they will reside on a farm near Greenwood.
