Wibben, Mr./Mrs. Nicholas (50th Anniv. - 15 June 1958) 
 

Mr. and Mrs. Nicholas Wibben began the celebration of their golden wedding anniversary with a service at Christ Lutheran church with a special blessing by the Rev. F. H. Sprengler, Sunday morning, June 15. 
 

About 150 guests were present at dinner and supper at the farm home where open house was also held from 2:00 to 5:00 o’clock. Yellow and gold flowers decorated the tables and the home. The honored couple received many beautiful gifts and money. 
 

Mr. and Mrs. Wibben came here 50 years ago and carved a farm out of the woods and have lived on that farm ever since. Mr. Wibben retired from active farming but engages in his hobby, which is farming. Mrs. Wibben does weaving of rag rugs for her relaxation. 
 

Nicholas Wibben was born in Germany Nov. 29, 1884, the son of Clause and Catherine Wibben. Mrs. Wibben was born Emma Guhl, March 3, 1887, in Sheboygan county. Her parents were Charles and Sophia Guhl. 
 

Mr. and Mrs. Wibben were married at Sheboygan Falls, June 13, 1908. They have five daughters and two sons. One son, Nicholas, is deceased. He was in Italy in 1944. 
 

There are 16 grand children. 
 

The children are Mrs. Catherine Bahr, Wausau; Mrs. Norman (Alice) Dunbar, Marshfield, Route 4; Robert Wibben, Colby; Mrs. Adolph (Anita) Bailke, Rib Lake; Mrs. Alton (Dorothea) Tischendorf, Milwaukee; Mrs. Hilbert (Ruth) Ramus, Stratford; and Lyle Wibben, Shreveport, La. 
 

Relatives and friends from away who were here for the celebration, came from: Abbotsford, Colby, Marshfield, Stratford, Wausau, Marathon, Riplinger, Rib Lake, Bowler, Sheboygan, Milwaukee, Dorchester and Shreveport, La.
