Lorenz, John (10 January 1878 - 14 January 1955)

Funeral services for John Lorenz, age 77, who died January 14, at the home of Joseph Marth on route 2, were held Monday Morning, January 17, 1955, from St. Mary’s Catholic Church.  The Rev. J. Maciulaitis officiated.  Interment was in the Neillsville City Cemetery.

The body reposed at the Georgas Funeral home, where a general rosary was held Sunday evening at 8 o’clock.

Mr. Lorenz, who resided on Court Street, made his home with his sister and brother-in-law for the past several months due to failing health.

He was born on January 10, 1878, at Neillsville to Michel and Anna (Wentzel) Lorenz and received his education in the Neillsville schools.  As a young man he did carpenter work and worked at this trade until failing health forced him to retire.  He never married and was a lifetime resident of Neillsville.

He is survived by one sister, Mrs. Joseph (Bertha) Marth of Neillsville Route 2.

Pallbearers were: Gordon Frantz, Joseph Resong, Charles and Henry Hubing, Charles Schroeder and George Ziglinski.
