Huntley, Mr. and Mrs. Harmon (Golden - 1955)

Over 100 relatives and friends gathered at the York Center Hall Sunday in honor of Mr. and Mrs. Harmon Huntley’s fiftieth wedding anniversary.  Dinner was served at noon by the W. S. C. S. The tables looked very pretty with white cloth, gold-colored doilies and vases of yellow jonquils.

A large three-tier cake, decorated with gold colored roses and a miniature bride and groom was the center piece for the honored couple’s table.  A white plastic tree, from which were hung silver dollars wrapped in gold-colored paper, a gift from the nieces and nephews, also adorned their table.  The couple’s names were engraved in gold on the napkins. The flowers were a gift of the grandchildren.

Mrs. Huntley, who was attired in a blue dress, had a beautiful corsage of yellow roses on her shoulder.  Mr. Huntley had a yellow rose on his coat lapel, a gift from their great-grandchildren.

Mr. and Mrs. Huntley have lived on their farm in York for many years.  They have two children, Mrs. Merle (Carol) Bushnell of Owen, and Mrs. Elmer (Irene) Filitz of Neillsville; six grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren.

Many flash pictures were taken throughout the day.

An open house was held from 2 to 4 at which cake and ice cream were served.  The couple received many presents and gifts of money.
