Adams, William J. (7 April 1884 - 5 November 1955) 
 

Funeral services were conducted Wednesday for William J. Adams, who died Satruday at his farm home. 
 

Services were held from the Zion Lutheran Church of Pine Valley with the Rev. John H. Jacklin officiating.  Burial was in the North Pine Valley Cemetery. 
 

The body reposed at the Georgas Funeral Home until it was taken to the church. 
 

Mr. Adams was born April 7, 1884, at Minock, Ill., to Jacob and Fannie (Gerdes) Adams.  He received his education and was confirmed while still living in Illinois.  His boyhood was spent working for his father on the farm and when he was 11 years old he moved with his parents to Clark County. 
 

He was married December 22, 1906 to Aleada Wegner, who survives. 
 

The family located on a farm in Pine Valley and for 38 years continued to farm.  Eleven years ago he was forced to retire due to poor health. 
 

Mr. Adams was a member of the Zion Lutheran Church of Pine Valley.  He as active in church work and was a member of the Church Board for several terms.  He also was a member of the Town board for four years. 
 

On October 19 he suffered a stroke from which he never recovered. 
 

Surviving him are his widow, one daughter, Mrs. Gordon (Vila) Sharratt of Neillsville, and one son, Elmer Adams, also of Neillsville, Rt. 3.  Other survivors are six sisters: Mrs. Tena Bauman, Roanoke, Ill.; Mrs. Dena Schultz, Mrs. Fannie Wilkins, Mrs. Herman Bohlman, all of Watseka, Ill.; Mrs. Kate Balk Walker of Missouri; Mrs. Lena Gronewald, Watertown, S. D.; seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

The Rev. John Jacklin officiated Wednesday afternoon at the funeral services for William J. Adams, age 71.  Services were held from Zion Lutheran Chruch of the Town of Pine Valley. Burial took place in the North Pine Valley Cemetery. 
 

Pallbearers were: Arthur Dux, Thone Karnitz, Robert Schlinkert, Earl Marden, Albert Meihack and Herbert Henning. The church choir, accompanied by Mrs. Kenneth Karnitz, sang two selections. 
 

Those from out of town who attended the rites were: Wilbert Adams, Mr. and Mrs. Elroy Thiel, Marshfield; Mr. and Mrs. Richard Deuel, Eau Clarie; Mr. and Mrs. Duane Marg, Mr. and Mrs. Ronald Gluch, Mr. and Mrs. Roland Sharratt, all of Granton; Mr. and Mrs. Albert Moritz and Mr. and Mrs. Wilbur Moritz, Benson, Ill.; Mrs. Christian Baumann, Roanoke, Ill.; Mrs. Dena Schultz, Mrs. Fannie Wilken, Mr. and Mrs. Marlin Schaumberg and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Herman Bohlman, Watseka, Ill.; Mr. and Mrs. Albert Schecklman, Loyal.
