Wilcox, Hesper Lillian (23 October 1866 - 18 February 1956) 
 

Mrs. Bert Wilcox, 89, former Greenwood resident, died early last Saturday morning at the home of her son-in-law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Forest Chadwick, at Conewango Valley, N.Y.  Mrs. Wilcox, who had resided with the Chadwicks since last spring, suffered a stroke at the supper table the evening before her death. 
 

The former Hesper Lillian Bigelow was born October 23, 1866, in McHenry County, Ill.  She was married on December 24, 1885, to Bert Wilcox at Woodstock, Ill. 
 

They came to Clark County from Woodstock in 1911, and spent the next six years farming in Tioga, coming to Greenwood in 1917. She resided here until the death of her husband on October 9, 1948.  Since then she spent the winters with her children and came back to live in her home here during the summer months until 1953. 
 

She is survived by five sons and three daughters: Clarence of Prairie du Sac; Waite of Syracuse, Kans.; James of Randolph, N. Y.; Clark of Elkhorn; Homer of Cattaraugus, N. Y.; Mrs. Emil (Maude) Siemer of Denver, Colo.; Mrs. Forest (Pearl) Chadwick of Conewango Valley, N. Y.; and Mrs. Floyd (Helen) Christie of Greenwood.  Thirty-six grandchildren and a brother, John Bigelow of Minnesota, also survive.  
 

Funeral services were held in New York Sunday.  The body arrived here early Tuesday morning, and services were held Tuesday afternoon. 
 

The Rev. Ethel Nulton, pastor of Grace Methodist Church officiated.  Burial was made in the Greenwood Cemetery.

Funeral services for Mrs. Bert Wilcox, 89, former Greenwood resident, were held from the Hill Funeral Home Tuesday afternoon.  The Rev. Ethel Nulton officiated.  Burial was made in the Greenwood Cemetery.   
 

Pallbearers were: Fred Clintsman, Hugh Christie, Arthur and John Syth, Vivian Carteron and Harry Stafford. 
 

"In the Garden" and "Abide With Me" were sung by Mrs. Donald Ellingson, with Mrs. Donald Dixon, organist. 
 

Mrs. Wilcox died Saturday, February 18, at the home of her son-in-law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Forest Chadwick at Conewango Valley, N. Y., where she had resided since last spring.

Y.; Clarence Wilcox of Prairie du Sac; Mr. and Mrs. Clark Wilcox of Elkhorn; Mr. and Mrs. Grant Wilcox of Sun Prairie; Mrs. Inez Lester of Prairie du Sac; Mrs. James St. Martin of Genoa City; Ed Kiltz and Marty Wilcox of Marengo, Ill.; Mr. and Mrs. Glen Hill of Marshfield; Mr. and Mrs. Adolph Yoggi of Monticello; Mr. and Mrs. Roy Whiting of Rochester, Minn.; Mr. and Mrs. Frank Van Horn and Mr. and Mrs. Geo. Bedell, Tioga; Mr. and Mrs. Irving Davis of Chili; Gerald Davis of Neillsville; and Mr. and Mrs. Phil Christie of Riplinger.
