Zahradka, Mary Ann (Marriage - 1956)

Mr. and Mrs. Richard G. Zahradka of Granton, returned home February 14 from Big Springs, Tex.; where they attended the wedding of their daughter, Mary Ann, to A/1c Donald R. Giasson, who is stationed at the Webb Air Force base there.

Accompanying them were Mr. and Mrs. Richard Eibergen, also of Granton, brother-in-law and sister of the bride.

The wedding took place in St. Thomas Catholic Church at Big Springs, with the Rev. F. William J. Moore, OMI, officiating at the semi-formal nuptial mass in which matching wedding bands were exchanged.

At the base of the altar was a wedding arch of plumosus fern, with wedding bells and white satin bows. The background was formed of white stock and camellia foliage.

The bride was given in marriage by her father.  Her gown, the design of a friend, was made of white bridal satin, with heart shaped neckline and bouffant skirt. Chantilly lace was used, over the satin to form a fitted bodice, and featured a Princess Anne collar and long sleeves that tapered to a point over the hands. The bride wore a pearl necklace and earrings.

Mrs. Eibergen served her sister as matron of honor; and Mr. Eibergen was bestman.

A buffet luncheon was served for friends and relatives by another friend, Mrs. Feliz Diaz.

The bride is employed as a secretary at the WAFB.  She attended St. Mary’s Catholic School in Neillsville, St. Mary’s academy in Prairie du Chien, and the University of Wisconsin before taking up X-ray technology studies in Wausau.

The groom has been stationed for four years at the Webb Air Force Base as an altitude chamber technician.  He also attends Howard County Junior College at Big Springs.

Following the wedding the couple left for a honeymoon in Mexico, following which they will make their home at 805 Johnson Street, Big Springs, Tex.
