Howard, Lilly (26 July 1866 - 9 March 1956) 
 

Funeral servicers were conducted Tuesday from the Georgas Funeral Home for Mrs. Lilly Howard, 89, who died Friday afternoon. 
 

The Rev. Frank Harcey, pastor of the Congregational Church, officiated at the services and burial was made in the Neillsville City Cemetery.  
 

Mrs. Howard, who formerly resided at 612 Hewett Street, was born July 26, 1866, in Dexter, Minn., to Edward and Elizabeth (Buss) King. Shortly after her birth her family moved to Clark County and located on a farm on Pleasant Ridge.  She attended the Kurth School.  On January 20, 1884, she was married to John Howard, who preceded her in death on June 21, 1939. 
 

Mr. Howard was engaged in the implement business with his brother, Len Howard, for 37 years.  The Howard family resided in St. Paul from 1918 until 1937.  She returned to Neillsville in 1937, where she continued to reside following her husband’s death.  She had been a patient at the Neillsville Nursing Home for the last few weeks.  
 

Mrs. Howard is survived by a daughter, Mrs. John Anderson of St. Paul, and a son, Floyd E. of Minneapolis; two sisters, Mrs. Etta Ruddock and Mrs. Thomas (Amy) Wren, both of Neillsville; four grandchildren and a great-grandchild. 
 

Pallbearers were: Herbert L. Brown, Clifford Blackman, George Buddinger, Ernest Snyder, Nick Scherer and William Hrasky. 
 

Out of town persons attending the rites were: Mr. and Mrs. John Anderson, Howard Anderson, Ruth Anderson Hurley, all of St. Paul; Floyd C. Howard, Minneapolis, George Swann and Mrs. Walter Carter, Crandon; LaVerell Fanning, Mr. and Mrs. Sam Rush and Nina Rush, all of Merrillan; Mr. and Mrs. Alva Howard and Vern Howard, Granton; and Mrs. Esther Rottjer, Loyal.
