Badzinski, Joanna (20 AUG 1955)

St. Bernard’s Catholic Church was the setting here for the wedding of Joanna Badzinski, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Louis Badzinski, and Ronald Ebben, son of Mrs. Harvey Ebben, all of Thorp (Clark Co., Wis.).

Before the altar which was beautifully decorated with gladiolas and ferns the double ring ceremony was performed by Rev. Arnold M. Muckerheide at 9 a.m. on Saturday, Aug. 20, 1955.  A nuptial mass followed at which St. Bernard’s Senior Choir sang.

The bride, given in marriage by her father, wore a dress of Chantilly lace over taffeta, featuring a scalloped neckline, topped with a nylon tulle yoke and long lace sleeves.  The skirt was styled with a tulle ruffle coming from beneath the scalloped skirt which was about 7 inches from the floor.  Her headpiece was in the form of a crown consisting of tiny flowers securing her silk illusion fingertip veil.  She wore a double strand pearl necklace and earrings to match, and carried a bouquet of lilies of the valley.

Wearing a blue nylon ballerina length gown of blue taffeta with embroidered nylon overskirt with scalloped neckline and short scalloped sleeves was Kathleen Badzinski, maid of honor for her sister.

The bridesmaids, Beverly Parks, a friend, and Lorraine Skaleski, a friend, wore similar gowns in different shades of blue.  They all wore halo type headpieces of tulle and seed pearls, elbow length gloves of white nylon and carried bouquets of white pompoms and chrysanthemums.

The groom and his attendants, Louis Badzinski, brother of the bride, as best man, Clayborne Ebben, brother of the groom, as groomsman, all wore navy blue suits.

Marcelene Badzinski, little sister of the bride, wearing a white dress fashioned identically to that of the bride’s, was the flower girl.  She carried a bouquet of white pompoms and chrysanthemums.

Robert Herman, cousin of the groom, acting as ring bearer, wore a suit of navy blue.

The ushers on this occasion were Cliff Ebben and Eugene Badzinski, brother of the groom and bride respectively.

The bride’s mother wore a dress of turquoise nylon with white accessories and the groom’s mtoehr wore turquoise faille with white accessories and both were honored with a white carnation and stephanotis corsage.

A dinner at 11:30 for the immediate family, a reception for relatives and friends from 2 to 5 p.m. and a buffet supper at 4:00, given by the bride’s parents, were held in St. Bernard’s Parish Hall.

The newlyweds left on a trip through southern Wisconsin and will be at home after Sept. 1st at 111 3rd Ave., Stouts Court, at Menomonie, Wis.

The bride attended grade and high school at Thorp and Wis. State College at Eau Claire.  She taught the 1st grade at Bloomer for the past two years.

The groom also attended school at thorp and will be a student at Stout State College again this fall.
