Scholtz, Mildred (Marriage - 23 June 1956)

The Zion Lutheran Church at Granton was the scene Saturday of the marriage of Miss Mildred Scholtz and Leslie Todd, both of Granton.

Mixed cut flowers banked the altar of the church and the pews were marked with yellow roses tied with bows.

The bride, given in marriage by her father, wore a floor length gown of Chantilly lace.  The dress was high-lighted by a net yoke edged with sequins and a tiny Peter Pan collar, also edged with sequins.  Lace ruffles cascaded over the hips and tiny tulle-covered buttons closed the tight fitted bodice down the back. The long sleeves came to a point at the wrist and fastened.  Seed pearls and sequins fashioned the half crown that secured her veil, which was edged in lace.  Her bouquet consisted of red roses and stephanotis intermixed with trimmed ivy vines, with white satin ribbons cascading from the bouquet.

Miss Esther Todd, sister of the groom, attended the bride as maid of honor and Mrs. Kenneth Franke, Marshfield, sister of the groom and Miss Doris Tullis, cousin of the bride from Milwaukee, were bridesmaids.

The groom was attended by Gene Scholtz as best man and Kenneth Franke and Duane Scholtz as groomsmen.  Ushers were Clement Scholz, of Aurora, Ill., and Edward Todd of Granton.

A wedding reception for 160 guests was held at the home of the bride’s parents.

The bride is a graduate of the Neillsville High School and has been employed at the Schultz Bros. store in Neillsville.  The groom is a graduate of the Granton High School and works at the Roddis plant at Marshfield.

Upon their return from a wedding trip to Northern Wisconsin they will reside on a farm on Route 2, Granton.

Parents of the couple are Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Scholtz and Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Todd.
