Hetzel, John Andrew (27 December 1886 - 19 September 1956) 
 

John Andrew Hetzel, 69, of Rt. 4, Neillsville, died September 19 in Neillsville. Funeral services were held Saturday afternoon from the Georgas Funeral Home, with the Rev. Arthur Oswald of the Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church at Granton in charge.  Burial was made in the Neillsville City Cemetery. 
 

Mr. Hetzel was born December 27, 1886, in Dodge County to Joseph and Mary (Gruenwald) Hetzel.  He received his elementary education in the schools of Dodge County and later worked on farms.  Following his marriage to Lisetta Samp on September 14, 1912, at Milwaukee, they resided in the Milwaukee area until they came to Clark County last spring and located on a farm in the Town of Washburn.  
 

He had been employed for 36 years by the International Harvester Company of Milwaukee, retiring in 1948, due to ill health.  With the help of their son they were operating the George (Eddie) Hohmann farm in the Town of Washburn, which they had purchased. 
 

He is survived by his wife and two sons: Edwin Hetzel of West Allis and Leonard Hetzel of Neillsville; four sisters, two brothers and five grandchildren. 
 

Pallbearers were Alfred Swenson, Joseph Deitte, Sr., Ray Duckelow, Clarence Sterns, Anton Hetzel, and Joe Deitte, Jr.  Hymns were sung by Mr. and Mrs. Howard Duckelow and daughter, Mrs. Rose Raddemann, of Baraboo. 
 

Those from away attending the services were: Mr. and Mrs. Edwin Hetzel and daughters, Mr. and Mrs. Alfred Swenson, Mrs. Carl Mastopietro, Mr. and Mrs. Anton Hetzel, Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence Hetzel, Mr. and Mrs. Ed Kastner, Mabel Stumpf and William Guske, all of Milwaukee; Carl Lueck, Mr. and Mrs. Herman Lueck, Stratford; Mrs. George Peebles, Mr. and Mrs. David Peebles, Mrs. Ralph Wendels, Mr. and Mrs. Joe Deitte, Jr., Mr. and Mrs. Joe Deitte, Sr., Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Stearns, all of Fond du Lac; Mr. and Mrs. Ray Duckelow, Neosho, Wis.
