Iffland, George H. (3 December 1867 - 6 February 1957)

Funeral services were held Saturday afternoon from the Humbird Methodist Church for George H. Iffland, 89, who died Wednesday afternoon at the Neillsville Nursing Home.  The Rev. Arthur Riley, pastor, officiated.  Burial was made in the Houghtonburg Cemetery at Humbird.  Masonic graveside rites were conducted by the lodges of Fairchild and Humbird.  The Georgas Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Iffland was born December 3, 1867, in Genesee, the son of the late George and Sophia (Baum) Iffland.  He received his education in the schools of Jackson County and farmed in that county until his retirement in 1943.  He resided in Humbird, Fairchild and Neillsville before returning to Humbird to make his home.  On January 14 of this year he entered the Memorial Hospital for treatment and about three weeks ago was admitted to the Nursing Home.

His first marriage to Jennie E. Colburn took place March 29, 1892, at Arcadia.  She died March 15, 1926; and on August 4, 1927, he was married to the late Della Armitage of the Town of Weston at Winona, Minn. She died January 31, 1950.

Surviving are three children: Harry Iffland, Humbird; Mrs. Leonard (Mayme) Laffe, Taylor; and Dewey Iffland, address unknown. Two grandchildren and four great-grandchildren also survive.
