Covell, Charlotte Mary (Marriage - 8 June 1957)

Miss Charlotte Mary Covell exchanged wedding vows with Robert Drescher in a seven o’clock candlelight service June 8 at the Congregational Church in Neillsville.  The Rev. Frank B. Harcey performed the double ring ceremony before a chancel banked with baskets of white gladioli, pink painted daisies and four lighted candelabra.

Parents of the couple are Mr. and Mrs. A. C. Covell of East Shore, Detroit Lakes, Minn., and Mr. and Mrs. Daniel Drescher of Neillsville.

For her wedding the bride wore a princess style floor-length dress of white Chantilly lace over white taffeta.  It was fashioned with a full skirt, and a v-neck, edged with pearls.  Long sleeves came to a point at the wrists.  A shoulder-length veil with a pearl tiara completed her ensemble, which was fashioned by her mother.  She carried her mother’s Bible covered with lace, a white orchid, lilies of the valley and stephanotis.

Miss Caryl Seif of Neillsville was her maid-of-honor. Serving as her bridesmaids were Rona Bunch of Hudson, Joan Carlson of Tomah, and Mrs. Virgil Lezotte of Neillsville.  Junior bridesmaids were Susan Covell of De Funiak Springs, Fla., and Betty Huebner.

The groom was attended by Vernon Drescher of Neillsville, as best man. Groomsmen were Billy Covell of Detroit Lakes, Minn., Duane Huebner and Virgil Lezotte.  Ushers were Dennis Harcey and Lamoine Anason.

Miss Covell was given in marriage by her father.

Organ music was played by Mrs. Jess W. Scott before and during the ceremony.  Miss Mary Ylvisaker sang, "The Wedding Prayer" and The Lord’s Prayer."

A reception was held and a buffet lunch was served in the church dining room immediately following the ceremony.  The tables were covered with pink tablecloths, silver branched candelabra and a pink centerpiece of painted daisies.

The bride and groom are graduates of Neillsville High School.  The bride also attended a year at Wisconsin State College at Eau Claire and has been employed at Northwestern Bell in Minneapolis. The groom has employment with the Nelson Muffler Corporation in Neillsville.

Upon their return from a wedding trip to southern Wisconsin they will reside at 434 ½ Hewett Street, Neillsville
